I grew up in Brighton and have never tired of the changing moods of the skies above the land and the sea. The skies and the horizons and the coastlines seem to me little changed but ever changing, and I attempt to convey a lingering mood or memory of what came before to pervade my paintings with a timelessness, both in the aesthetic and emotional response. I paint with oils, building layers of light and textures to capture the images and feelings the original views provoke in me.
